"Then I dreamed that I ran downstairs and had just time to hide myself when you, Mr. Fox, came in dragging a young lady by the hair. And the sunlight glittered on her diamond ring as she clutched the tapestry where I lay hidden, and you drew your sword, and cut off the poor lady's hand."
Then Mr. Fox fixed Lady Mary in his stony gaze and his smile broadened just a little as he repeated, in whispering voice that could scarcely be heard: "But it is not so, dear heart, and it was not so, and God forbid it should be so!" Then Lady Mary stepped closer to him, and the smile left her face, and her voice rang as she cried:
"But it is so, and it was so,
Here's hand and ring I have to show."
And with that she pulled out the poor dead hand with the glittering ring from her skirts and pointed it straight at Mr. Fox ...
“You did this, you are to blame for all of
it.” Suddenly he clutched her arm tightly and whispered in her ear “speak no
word of this and you will not end up as the poor woman in your, dream.” But she
refused, “Then live no longer if that is your wish” Mr Fox replied in a
sinister cackle as a smug grin appeared on his face. Suddenly at that moment he
whipped out a worn bloody knife with a curved edge made of black rock. ”If you
move I will kill you. If you try to escape I will kill you. If you so much as breathe
I will kill you. In fact I will kill you anyway but let’s save that joy till
later.” Out of the shadows crept his Hench men taking her in their grips. She hadn’t
even noticed them standing there in their black suits. They dragged her back to
his castle in the darkness. But Lady Mary’s friends had outsmarted him, they
were hiding at the grand oak door of the castle. As soon as Mr Fox got there
they pounced. They managed to injure his Hench men and get Lady Mary back. Then
Mr Fox fled but he stumbled and fell over. Then it was all over for him, they
had caught him. Then Lady Mary’s brother grabbed Mr Fox’s knife and put a slice
along his back slowly bleeding him to death.

Thanks for this, Samuel. Below is Libby's Work, I will show her how to copy it onto her own blog, then you can delete it after half term!
ReplyDelete+ Real tension here, especially in the dialogue!
T Could you add more description of the action - there is a big battle here, but you don't really describe the chases, attacks and details of it. How do the friends defeat Mr. Fox's men?
